CASA “Back in Time” Gala Helps Children Move Forward

The annual Celebration of Children: Black & White Ball, benefitting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Orange County, raised a record-breaking $1,157,000 to help foster children who often fall through the cracks. The event, held at Pasea Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach, garnered over 400 attendees. Guests, attired in “Back in Time” themed roaring 20’s inspired attire, were treated to a Charlston era evening featuring the Satin Dollz Band and dancers. The highly dedicated gala planning committee was comprised of past chairs Dana Chou, Nancy Eaton, Cathy Morrison, Lourdes Nark, Kay Patel, Urvashi Patel, Brenda St. Hilaire, Wendy Tenebaum and Lauren Wong. 

James Previti and Bobbie Howe were honored as this year’s Children’s Champions for their commitment and support of CASA’s organization and mission. 

The award for Outstanding Corporation was presented to John Hohener, Executive Vice President of Microsemi for ongoing commitment to growth and achievement for the CASA organization. David Nusz, was honored as “Advocate of the Year” for his outstanding work as a CASA volunteer since 2009. Read the full article in the latest issue of Joli Magazine.
